LPUNEST vs JEE Main vs CUET: Which Is the Best Route for LPU B.Tech Admission 2027?
For LPU B.Tech 2027, there isn't just one door. LPU generally considers LPUNEST, JEE Main or CUET scores for B.Tech admission. The real question isn't "which exam gets me in" — it's which score gets me the biggest scholarship. Here's how to decide, from an LPU alumnus.
3 ways into LPU B.Tech
- LPUNEST — LPU's own entrance and scholarship test. Your score sets your LPUNEST scholarship category.
- JEE Main — the national engineering entrance. LPU generally considers JEE Main scores for B.Tech admission.
- CUET — the national undergraduate entrance. LPU generally considers CUET scores too.
Eligibility rules still apply on every route — for example, B.Tech CSE generally needs 60% in 10+2 with Physics, Maths and English. See LPU B.Tech CSE Admission 2027. Always confirm the current rules on your programme's page on lpu.in.

Which route gives a better scholarship?
It depends on your score on each exam. LPUNEST has its own scholarship categories based on your LPUNEST score — on many programmes the top categories give around 50%, 40% or 30% off tuition (see the LPU Scholarship 2027 guide). LPU also runs separate scholarship schemes for national exam scores such as JEE Main and CUET. Check the current criteria on lpu.in, and go with whichever route puts you in the higher slab.
Which route is right for you?
- Serious JEE aspirant aiming for NITs / IIITs: keep JEE as your main focus, but give LPUNEST early (from 10 January 2027 at home) as a stress-free backup.
- Board-focused student, LPU is a top choice: LPUNEST is your best route — it's easier, has no negative marking in recent patterns, and you pick your own date.
- Taking CUET for central universities: give LPUNEST too, and compare which score earns the better LPU scholarship.
Why giving LPUNEST anyway makes sense
- It's a second chance at a bigger scholarship — if your LPUNEST score beats your JEE or CUET result, you benefit.
- The cost is small — ₹1,000 for the soft kit, and coupon code
