LPUNEST 2027 from Home: Proctored Exam Rules & Tips

The remotely proctored LPUNEST lets you sit the exam at home, at a slot you choose — Phase 1 home exams start from 10 January 2027. But a weak setup or a small rule break can get your attempt flagged. Here's how to do it right.

Technical Setup Checklist

• Laptop or desktop with a working webcam and microphone (mobile phones are generally not allowed for the test).
• Stable internet – broadband preferred; keep a mobile hotspot as backup.
• Updated browser as specified in the instructions; close all other apps and tabs.
• Power backup – fully charged laptop and charger connected.
• Run the system check / mock test provided by LPU before exam day.

Room Setup

• Quiet, well-lit room with a plain background; light should be in front of you, not behind.
• Clear desk – no books, notes, phones or smartwatches.
• Nobody should enter or speak in the room during the exam.

Common Rules (Read Your Instructions)

• Keep your face visible in the camera throughout.
• Don't look away from the screen repeatedly or talk aloud.
• Don't switch tabs, minimise the window or use headphones.
• Keep your ID proof ready for verification.

Exam-Day Routine

1. Log in 30 minutes early.
2. Restart your laptop, then open only the exam browser.
3. Keep water nearby and use the washroom before starting.
4. Attempt easy questions first; keep an eye on the timer.

Home vs Test Centre — Which Is Better?

Choose home if you have a reliable laptop, internet and a private room. Choose a test centre (20 Jan – 5 Feb 2027 in Phase 1) if your internet is unstable or your home is noisy.
